McCLIM changes: PostScript, CLX; build fixes for SBCL

Saturday, December 4, 2004

Gilbert Baumann has committed some changes to McCLIM's CVS repository. He modified the PostScript backend so that it accepts and encodes ISO 8859-1 strings, and implemented some new graphics primitives for the CLX backend. The latter primitives require an X Window server supporting a recent version of the RENDER extension. Gilbert also worked on pane layout code.

Note that current CVS SBCL generates errors when building McCLIM. The McCLIM sources contain some Latin1 characters in comments, for which SBCL issues encoding errors. Christophe Rhodes posted a patch to the McCLIM mailing list that restores SBCL's ability to build the system. Until either McCLIM or SBCL are fixed, you need this patch.
