Useful TI LispM documentation

Thursday, December 2, 2004

In a recent Lemonodor entry, John Wiseman tells about the Bitsavers archive of retro computing documents, including several Lisp-related ones. These documents are not just of historical value, they can still provide useful insight on Lisp programming and tools.

Consider, for example, one of the TI Explorer LispMachine manuals, Explorer Programming Concepts. I found sections 3 Condition Signaling and Handling and 6 Pathnames useful in understanding such issues. Of course, the syntax and/or semantics described in these sections predate ANSI Common Lisp, but the explanation of the underlying concepts is still valuable.
