Apress: still interested in publishing Lisp books?

Thursday, November 18, 2004

Last August I expressed in this blog my enthusiastic support of Apress for their decision to publish Lisp books. After reading Bill Clementson's account of Apress' lack professionality in dealing with a well known and respected Lisper, I am a bit less enthusiastic. I still keep the two preorders I have placed for their great books, but I will more carefully check their future moves in the Lisp market.

Fortunately, as Bill's blog entry shows, there are serious publishers interested in Lisp books -- and worth supporting. I enjoyed the online version of Successful Lisp by David Lamkins, and I am going to purchase the printed edition.
