"Houston, we have a problem" - 35th Apollo 13 anniversary

Wednesday, April 13, 2005

Let me put my space enthusiast cap on, and remind all geeks that today is the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 13 accident. It was defined as the most successful failure in the history of space flight. Some resources on the mission:

Apollo 13
Basic facts, summaries and figures at NSSDC.
Apollo 13 "Houston, we've got a problem."
EP-76 NASA Office of Public Affairs monograph.
Apollo 13 section of the Apollo Image Gallery
Part of The Project Apollo Archive, the most extensive collection of stunning, high quality Apollo images and multimedia.
Apollo Image Atlas, 70mm Hassemblad Image Catalog
The images taken by the Apollo 13 crew; part of the Apollo Image Atlas, an online collection of all the 70mm Hassemblad images taken by Apollo missions, and more.
Apollo 13 (1995)
The movie.
Disasters and Accidents in Manned Spaceflight
A good book to learn more about many less known space accidents, from stratospheric balloon flights and rocket planes to the Challenger explosion.

Back to Lisp. Have you got your copy of Practical Common Lisp? :-)
