McCLIM changes: Lisp inspector, default right-click menu

Sunday, January 30, 2005

The most important change in the latest batch of McCLIM CVS commits is the addition of an embryonic Lisp inspector by Robert Strandh, in Apps/Inspector. Compilation and usage notes are in Apps/Inspector/INSTALL. When I try to evaluate the sample form described in the notes, however, I get an error.

Tim Moore mostly worked on the internals of McCLIM. But an important user-visible change is the removal of the Describe Presentation entry from the default right-click menu. This probably improves usability, because it reduces the perplexity of non Lisp-savvy users -- especially when they do execute the command.
